A Prime Day haul is full of excitement and sense of loss if you don't get the item you have pined for since the last 5 minutes you first laid eyes on it. Or you landed on a Youtube video with the top Amazon Prime Day items to purchase that will optimize your Insta reel life. The steals are amazing as they are listed at 50% off! But are they? The fear of missing out or looking like a sad greige lady with all the water bottles and perfectly curated fits finely made by a company that you can't even pronounce should make you take pause. But I'll admit now that the sale is over is when I have a clear mind and can manage to find my prudent self. Honestly I fell in deep this last Prime Day charade. I'm hoping by sharing my Prime Day haul review and the numerous returns I made, it can help others this quickly approaching holiday season. Let's unpack these “sensationalized” deals; NOT fire.
Sale prices are from July 2023. Retail is based on what it's currently being sold for versus the list price which is another topic for another day on how deceiving that is.
Natori bra Retail $68 | Prime Day Sale $40

I’ve heard so many good tales about how this being “The bra”. My excitement was soon replaced with disappointment once I tried it on. The fabric felt cheap. It was a bit itchy. I saw some reviews say the same. I wonder what it will be like if I buy directly from Natori? It doesn’t seem fake, it was well packaged with a plastic bra shaped insert to keep the bra from losing its form and it was all Natori branded. I wonder if Natori purposely makes a cheaper version for Amazon to maintain profitability?
Half zip sweater Retail $37 | Prime Day Sale $25

I have the real one. If you are not picky yes this is a good dupe. BUT the grommet for the zipper was not good quality and missing the logo on it which is a dead giveaway that it’s ”inspired”. Also, the collar laid heavier around the neck compared to the real one. If I to choose, I have rather save my coin and get the real one. Passed and returned.
HeyNuts 7/8 leggings Retail $28 | Prime Day Sale $23

They are cotton stretch fabric, which is more of a dated feel in leggings. I was looking for the buttery soft marriage of lycra with cotton to make that smoothing texture. These pants felt more like a sausage casing. No thank you.
Lululemon cropped hoodie dupe Retail $29 | Prime Day Sale $20

For my broad shoulders it was very bulky and the fabric didn’t fall well it was somewhat stiff and heavy; like cheap cotton trying to look esspensive. This was supposedly a Lululemon dupe or cousin. Either way it wasn’t worth it.
The Gym People padded gym top Retail $22 | Prime Day Sale $17

Great fabric, nice cut, good padding, it was a preference issue. I was looking for something that landed on my waist this was more of a cropped tank top. Nice quality but not for me.
Biker shorts 5” inseam Retail $19.99 | Prime Day Sale $16.99

Amazing fit, I have ordered two additional ones. Sometimes when you pick a different color there could be differences in how the fabric feels, but not the case here. You don’t need skinny legs for this. They don’t ride up and the 5 inch inseam is great for true petites, meaning ladies who are under 5’ 4”. These are “Gucci” as the young ones say.
Amazon Essentials pack of tank tops Retail $23 | Prime Day Sale $17

The cotton is nice, but the straps of the camisole are so restricting. I hate that I didn’t try them on before washing and they also shrank after washing. I suggest going up your normal size or skip them altogether if you have sensitive skin.
Amazon Essentials slim fit tanks Retail $13 | Prime Day Sale $10

These are great for the price and a nice dupe for GAP version. They wash well and maintain their shape throughout the day due to it having some stretch. 10/10 love these.
Amazon Essentials bikini underwear pack Retail $15 | Prime Day Sale $11

Same as the essential camisole, the cotton is really nice with a good stretch but who’s the buyer for the elastic border? So restricting I will need to wash them like 10 more times to get them to a point where I can wear them during the day and not just to sleep. No one likes underwear lines to be seen. - Future self here, it took about 5 washes and now the elastic border is the way it should be, some containment but no longer restrictive.
Full zip hoodie Retail $36.99 | Prime Day Sale $30

The quality of the cotton looked cheap. It was rough and already had pilling sporadically throughout the fabric; this isn’t going to wash well. The interior had that finish that you know is going to pill into tiny little balls throughout and stick to whatever you wear under it. If I want exfoliate I have my awesome exfoliation Japanese towel for that. Hard pass. I don't understand the positive star rating, but possilby if I chose a different color the fabric might be better.
